I have spent years in ministry watching something that quietly breaks my heart. Believers who love God genuinely, who serve faithfully, who show up week after week, but who have learned to keep their faith small. Manageable. Dignified. Safe.
I wrote God’s Craziest Fans because I believe we were never called to that.
The Bible is not a book of polished saints. It is a record of wild, imperfect, sometimes embarrassing people who loved God so completely that they stopped caring what it looked like. Rahab hid enemy spies and risked her life on a God she had only heard rumours about. David stripped off his royal robes and danced in the streets when the Ark came home. Stephen stood before his executioners and would not stop talking about Jesus, not even as the stones began to fly. A nameless boy handed over his entire lunch and watched it feed thousands.
“They were not polished saints with perfect records. They were raw, real, and radically devoted.”
These are God’s craziest fans. And I wrote this book to introduce you to them because I believe their stories carry a summons for our generation.
We live in a culture that prizes composure. Even in the Church, there is enormous pressure to keep faith tidy, acceptable, and above all, controlled. But the men and women I study in this book never got that memo. They worshipped when it was costly. They obeyed when it was absurd. They gave when they had nothing left. And heaven called every one of them heroes of faith.
I have seen too many believers tone down their worship to avoid standing out. I have watched people silence convictions that God placed in them because they feared the reaction. I have sat with men and women who have convinced themselves they are too broken, too ordinary, or too far gone to be used by God.
God’s Craziest Fans is my answer to all of that. Thirteen chapters, thirteen biblical characters, each one a fresh and honest retelling of a story that refuses to let you stay comfortable. Each chapter ends not with a neat conclusion but with a personal challenge, because this book is not designed to inform you. It is designed to provoke you.
“In a world obsessed with image, applause, and caution, we desperately need this kind of crazy again!”
I want you to read about Rahab and ask yourself what wall you are still hiding behind. I want you to read about David and reconsider how much you have toned down your worship for the comfort of those watching. I want you to read about the boy with the lunch and stop waiting until you have more before you give God what is already in your hands.
If your faith has grown quiet and careful, this book is for you. If you are hungry for something more than religion without fire, this book is for you. If you have ever wondered whether ordinary people can still do extraordinary things for God, I wrote these pages to answer that question with a resounding yes!
